Chinese have rather strange idea about their international image. Many big companies hire foreigners (particularly white people) to attend the business meetings. It’s believed that the presence of white men raises the status of the company. So white people who are just actors or even guys from the street are really meaningful during multimillion negotiations. Such actors usually don’t speak Chinese at all. They smile, giving fake business cards and maybe say some sentences in English like: I’m happy to see you here.
